Engine
Replacing the 800cc engine on the Alto will be a new 998cc, 3 cylinders, MPFi, KB-series engine which is also seen on the A-Star. The maximum power output is pegged at 68 Bhp at 6200 rpm and a maximum torque amounts to 90 Nm at 3500rpm. The vehicle accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in approximately 13.3 seconds. The light weight aluminum engine ensures better mileage close to 20.2 kmpl. The transmission is a new 5 speed cable type shift gear box which is smoother and more responsive.
Design And Comfort
The design says it all; the whole car yells out that it wants to stand apart from the old Altos. Though concealing similar from a distance the new Alto is different in many aspects. The new eagle eyed headlamps and the all new tail lamps which are rounded from top. The attractive new body coloured front and rear bumpers give Alto K10 a big car feel. The front bumper has integrated fog lamps in which will come as standard in top variant. The front grille is also new with 3 horizontal slats finished in matte black with a big Suzuki logo in centre.
Interiors
The dual tone interiors look very good and give Alto K10 a richer look. The steering wheel is all new with a big Suzuki logo in centre which looks awesome. The instrument cluster is also new, it now comprises much needed tachometer. The tacho is flanked by the speedo on the right side along with fuel gauge, temperature gauge and digital tripmeter odometer. The top variant of Alto K10 also features front power windows. Nice storage spaces and all new cup holders, a heater and improved knee-room for rear seat passengers improve comfort.
Ride And Handling
The new engine-suspension combo has worked wonders for the new Alto's ride quality. The ride is assuring and glitch free thanks to the better tuned suspension involved. The healthy acceleration and handling are massive draws which are accentuated by the snazzy feel of the new gear shift mechanism. The torque is just right at the correct shift points and makes for a car which provides brisk progress whenever you want it and whatever be your style of motoring. Overall it's a joy to drive in this of uncontrolled fuel prices.

Safety
Safety of the passengers is now taken care of even more by inclusion of Collapsible steering column, Headlight leveling device, improved suspension system and child locks on the rear door. There is also an improved braking system and Side impact beams. i-CATS and central locking are standard which assist to minimize chances of a burglary.
