Under the hood of the Mercedes Benz GL Class is a powerful V6, 3 litres, 2987 cc, GL 350 CDI Blue Efficiency engine which is loaded with off-road pro-engineering package and delivers a great performance on any road condition. The engine produces a massive 224 Bhp at 3800 rpm and has a maximum torque output of 510 Nm as early as between 1600 and 2800 rpm. Overall length, width & height is 5099 mm, 1920 mm & 1840 mm respectively while the ground clearance of all new Mercedes Benz GL Class is 307mm and wheelbase is around 3075mm. The GL has loads of chrome elements throughout its design, from the roof rails to the chrome fog lamp surrounds. The grill and bumpers are attractive. In the rear the attractive bumpers with integrated twin-pipe exhaust system is further enhanced with its new daytime driving lights and LED tail lights. The new age designer alloy wheels are also a visual delight.

Ride And Handling
The ride is superbly good .The all wheel drive is available and the drive is assisted by innovative 4MATIC system. Combined with the electronic traction control system, 4ETS it enables controlled braking of spinning wheels, and, as a consequence, increases the drive torque at the wheels offering good traction, allowing plenty of power to be planted on the road when moving off and when accelerating, especially on poor road surfaces. The steering is speed sensitive and quick. The SUV also packs a host of attractive features like Downhill Speed Regulation (DSR) in its Off-road package.

Safety
Off-roading is a dangerous affair and Mercedes have ensured that the passengers are protected all the time. Features like ABS and ESP are only standard but Mercedes also included trailer stabilization technology which boosts control.
