Engine
The Panamera features a front engine contrary to its signature sports car models. The Panamera and Panamera 4 variants have a 3.6 litre V6 engine below their hood which belts out a respectable 296 Bhp @ 6,200rpm and a maximum torque of 400 Nm @ 3,750-4,250rpm. The Panamera S and 4S versions have the 4.8 litre V8 which delivers 394 Bhp @ 6,500rpm and a torque of 500 Nm @ 3,500-5,000rpm. The Panamera Turbo features a 4.8 litre V8 twin turbo which produces a massive 493 Bhp and a max torque of 700 Nm @ 2,250-4,500 rpm. The engines are mated with 7 speed Dual clutch PDK transmission as standard on the 4 and turbo models while Panamera and Panamera S receive a six speed manual with automatic transmission as an option. The Panamera versions come as rear wheel drives with optional all wheel drive but the turbo is by standard all wheel drive.
Design And Comfort
The Panamera is a work of art nonetheless. Though its long hood and a rounded rear-end make it extremely different from the 911s but some angles have striking resemblance. The wings are slightly higher than the bonnet and, at the rear; they are distinctly muscular and form the typical Porsche shoulder line. The Porsche looks fluid in its design and the excellent paintjob just adds to it. The lights blend into the superb design and the car just exhibits royalty. Position lights and daytime running lights with LED technology on all Panamera models add a special touch.
Interiors
The interiors are luxurious and that's where the Panamera completely beats the 911. 911 was an all out performance model and the approach to the interiors was minimalist but the interiors on the Panamera are anything but ordinary. The four individual seats are comfortable and offer good lateral support. In conjunction with seat heating, a seat ventilation function is also available as an option. The electrically adjustable 8-way power seats in the rear are another special feature available as an option. The elevated centre console stands out and the so does the rear boot space which can go up till 1263 litres when the rear seats are folded down.
Ride And Handling
The four-corner adaptive air suspension retains superior handling while also providing a comfortable ride on public roads. The Hydraulic Power-assisted Rack and Pinion based steering is precise and gives a firm driving experience. It is enhanced by the variable-assist power steering. Panamera also features launch control.
